    the ones that work better w/ all your equipment, ie... dvd burner, standalone player , portable player. check what your hardware supports.

    Optical media are not really standardized at the physical level. Although the information written is in a standard (more or less) format, how it is written differs.

    Your DVD writer knows how to write certain brands of media and guesses at others. Of course it also may support DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW etc.

    If you check the DVD media section of the site, you will find comments about some media which make it clear that it is exceptionally reliable in one user's equipment, and absolute garbage in another users. In fact the same user may have multiple pieces of equipment with differing results.

    When you find a brand that writes in your writer and reads in all of your equipment, that is what you should use.
