Need help editing text

in this video im using Sony movie studio 13 and am trying to add text. usually a new window will pop up where i can edit said text before inserting it but the window doesn't pop up and the "sample text" is used. anyone know how to fix this?

Did you try reinstalling?

Apparently there were some known bugs back in February that the latest updates fixed. As a licensed owner you are entitled to them for free. Also make sure your computer video drivers are up to snuff (though Movie Studio is pretty forgiving.) Not sure what else to try.

Have you tried to reset the software to default settings and preferences? Often worth at least a try with Movie Studio also. And as said, be sure to update to the latest build.
"If a program isn’t working right, just reinstalling it won’t necessarily fix it. You may need to reset the program to its default settings."

Reset the view to default. Then try it.

So what happened is your text editing dialog box got commingled into one of the other frames.
