  1. Hi,

I'd like to know haw to preview the resultls o SVCDs before burning and playing in DVD players.
A lot of times, mpeg-2 files encoded in TMPGENC look terrible in media player but very good in the dvd player. Actually, sometimes if I use different setting to encoded, the result can be worse in the Media Player and better in stand alone.
    Pleas, help me!

  2. I use VideoLan
Check the section (S)VCD/DVD Players on http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdtools.htm

(The URL for VideoLan is http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdtools.htm)

  3. I create the SVCD image (I-Author or VCDImager).
Then mount the bin from the hard drive with Virtual Daemon (see tools).
Finally, I then play the (Virtual) svcd using winDVD.

This lets me test menus and the general look (sorry no subtitles).

However, the computer monitor is not the tv so there is no substitute
    for the real thing.

    Do you want to:
    1) Catch a bad encode before you build an image? (a software dvd player may help to play the mpeg2)

    2) Make sure you have authored correctly before you burn? (virtual daemon)

    3) Not waste CD-Rs? (try cd-rw)

    Hope this helps
