Ronja the Robber's Daughter hasn't been made available on tape or DVD with English dub or subtitle at all. There is a Youtube video (240, basically VCR quality) that has English subtitle. But the one app I used did not have option to include subtitle and the saved video has no subtitle at all.

Any suggestion? I wanted to be able to watch it anytime and not while tethered to internet access.

Hi, For me when I wanted to have a video and subtitles from youtube, I was downloading the video with download helper, then I was downloading the subtitles with Youtube SRT downloader (there are others softwares or others methods you can use)

Later, with a software that adds the sub, I encrusted the sub in my video.

I've found another Firefox addon that can download at once audio/video/subtitles/etc from youtube - Complete YouTube Saver:

    http://www.cys-audiovideodownloader.com/
    or
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/complete-youtube-saver/

Just right-click the video/container/quality you want (preferably MP4 with AVC/h264 and AAC in it) and choose 'Save Complete YouTube Page' and tick what you need (video, subtitles, comments, statistics, avatars). Before the first use go to 'Options' to tick all containers/qualities you want to see in the list and to download/install ffmpeg for DASH files.

And if you want subtitles muxed into MP4 you can use for example My MP4Box GUI (https://www.videohelp.com/tools/My-MP4Box-GUI).
