  1. I was wondering if anyone could help? I have Panasonic 1980, and sometimes use JVC SR-V10 with TBC on always, to Canopus 100 & Firewire capture.
Capture with windv and sony. Nero 16 and Sony Vegas pro I edit with. Edit everything, looks awesome on computer. Go to burn DVD and complete crap

I capture at 720x480, 29.97 AVI, to final product Mpeg2.

What settings do I need? From capture, to edit, to DVD? I never had this problem before. Should I capture lower settings then burn at 720x480?

    Thank you!

Looks he's creating DV if he's using Firewire and WinDV. If the DV capture looks good, something must have gone wrong when converting to
mpeg2, DVD. What mpeg-2 encoder are you using? What were the settings?

    Burn with Nero 720x480

  7. Bit rate may be a bit ambitious?.... Although it is 'in spec' of course, some DVD players don't handle that highest bit rate very well. Try 7500.....

I never had much luck getting decent results using the Main Concept encoder --did much better with HCEnc IIRC..

Is Nero re-encoding to try to fit 3 hours of video onto one DVD?

Upload a 10-second sample from the burned DVD during a portion that shows the issue.

Who knows what Nero is doing. Must be at least the authoring. Doesn't Nero create a log that tells you exactly what it did ...

As they say in golfing terms - that's a lot of green in between:
"Capture with windv and sony. Nero 16 and Sony Vegas pro I edit with."
Lots of possibilities in there for a mistaken compressed output.

Nobody knows what you're seeing unless you post a sample.
