  1. Does anybody know anything about this error?
I ripped a DVD and burned on my DVD R, but I can’t watch it. Power DVD player says it is unsupported format when I’m trying to play it on my computer. And my Philips DVD player doesn’t play it too. I tried to rip this DVDR using DVD decripter and it says Invalid IFO/BUP. Very sad story to me. Can anybody help me to fix it? Thanks. For_4

How are you trying to play it through Power DVD ?

You have to open the VIDEO_TS.IFO using the "Open DVD File On Hard Disk Drive" method. If this doesn't work then something is amiss with the ripping.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Fill in your computer details, too. Are you still running Win95 ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Win95, 2GB HD, probably a "seleron" 400....

I would hope that you haven't put a DVD burner in your machine.

Dude, you might need to upgrade if you want to play around with DVDs.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  8. Thanks for all your answers!
I'm using windows XP pro with 2.8 MHz Processor 1G of ram 120G hard drive. My rip I made by DVD X copy.
When I'm using Power DVD Pleyer I just poin to the drive where the DVD is and error massege says UNSUPORRTED FORMAT. It is when I try to rip it again I have THE massege InvalidIFO/BUP.
    Thanks. FOR_4

I will put money on dvd x copy being the culprit. You won't be able to rip the movie off any discs created with this hideous piece of work.

    anyway...

Try the PowerDVD method I suggested a few posts back or get IfoEdit and use its DVD Play method.

Do you still have the original dvd ? I'm thinking that it might be wise to point you in the DVDDecrypter/DVDShrink/DVD2One/CloneDVD areas. There are a number of ways to do the same thing.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  10. I have a similiar problem... Ive been trying to burn an ISO image of a dmg file but it has the error of an invalid IFO file "DVD Video Error: Either Video_TS.IFO or VTS_xx_0.IFO is an invalid IFO!" I cant seem to fix this error... I am currently using MagicISO and IFOedit but I dont have any knowledge of the two. I have done this with other dmg files and the ISO came out fine but this file does not. I have noticed that this file is over 3.42 GB which means that ISO does not support this...Its just a hunch but can someone help me out
