Is there a piece of software that can take permanent subtitles out of mkv files ? I have an mkv file that has subtitles 1/2 way through the file. I would like to take these out what is the software? John

  2. What do you mean by permanent?
If hardcoded (i.e. encoded into the picture), you're out of luck.

Now, on the off chance you have forced soft subs (defaulted on), just open the MKV in MMG.
Deselect the subtitle stream and mux a new MKV.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

Tried that it didn't say that the mkv had subtitles in it. But when I play the file the subtitles show up. Can I get rid of these?, but it is ony half way through the movie.
