For DVDRs the glue bonding the two layers is probably getting pried apart by moisture, heat, old age, rough handling/poor storage, or all of the above. The two halves come off, tough. For CDRs, the dye recording layer, together with the screen-printed label just on top of it got peeled off due to any or all of the factors as that for DVDRs. With the types and brand of discs I see in the pictures posted, I do fully expect all these to happen soonest. I wouldn't be caught dead using them if someone gave me a million pieces free. Good optical media are becoming rare or unpredictable in quality. A good starting point would be some Verbatim model lines, or JVC-Taiyo Yuden. CMC Magnetics make discs for several brands in different places/countries; I suppose quality will depend on how much is paid by the specific brand holder. There are several threads that have ruminated on this topic here in videohelp.com, including those by a witless troll who responds to the name gamemaniaco, which, for what it's worth, you may even glean something from. Nice pics, btw

Eu suspeitava disso, mas vai para o Google Translate, copiar a minha resposta para a caixa, fazer Inglês> português, então veja se você consegue. É assim que eu consegui o português, querido maniaco ....

I get that. But I have fun while at it, teehee... Troll with a personality of a defective fungus-attacked CDR didn't even get me mentioning his name in my response. Besides, I've stopped him now for a few hours: he has not responded back...

Gamey is the OP of this thread, and as we now know he gets Portuguese, it may help had you posted your problem about loompas and your itchy balls in that language. I bet after all the fungus he has been through and the spores they spawned off, he will have at least a qualified answer...

The pictures are too damned big. Forum pet peeve. I wish a mod would fix it.

It's poor bonding on cheap discs. That's all it is. Mystery (to you) solved.

    No, don't PM me again.
