  1. Hey All,

This ismy first time posting so go easy on me if the answer is obvious .
I have been asked by a friend to take a look at the only copy of his wedding video.
It is in the form of a video_ts folder with the relevant .vob .ifo files.
When played back some of the .vob files appear as a thin vertical strip some others appear to have the same image repeated 6 times accross the screen during playback.

I have tried converting them to another format like .avi but it just reproduced the errors (as expected)

i don't know what information might help you so i will post some GSpot details below:

    dar - 1.333
    par - 1.067
    sar - 1.250
    720x576 - 4:3

Hopefully this can be fixed by someone not a noob like me

How does it look if you play it as a real DVD, open the VIDEO_TS folder with VLC or MPCHC? Don't just play the vobs.

If it wont work you could try IfoAR2WS on the video_ts folder and see if it looks any better in 16:9 mode.

  3. Hey,

Thanks for the quick response! i patched the files with ifoAR2WS and now all of the files are having the same issue. it seems like the picture is repeated 6 times along the horizontal axis. After pacthing non of the files are super tall and thin anymore (however i have kept a copy of the old files aswell).

The menu structure works fine and the video backgrounds work fine aswell its just the clips that are wrong.
here is a series of images showing the problem.

    Menu working fine:

    Multiple pictures of problem clips:

BTW this issue was occuring on the only DVD copy of this film which i have taken the video_ts folder from in hopes of fixing.
