    Hi,
    i have a cctv footage, which is in mp4 format.
    i tried to play it using VLC player, but it only plays video and am not able to hear sound track.

    the Mediainfo report is as under :

    Are you sure it should contain any audio then?

    Mpeg audio shouldn't be any problem for VLC.

    Try other software --- ffplay, Mplayer, MPC-HC, PotPlayer.

    MediaInfo says "MPEG-PS", therefore it's NOT an "mp4 file"

    Possibly that MPG file was muxed improperly --- in fact, H.264 video in an MPG container is rather uncommon
