I got a bunch of (apparently Windows) files that seem to be avi video data. Inside of the directory where the files are, there is a descriptor playlist ini file that looks like:
and files with names prefixed a la "File###" and with extensions ".d" and ".i"Code:[autorun] open=mcdplayer.exe icon=mcdplayer.exe [Setup] VideoMode=NTSC Serial=X52A5BB BackupTime=2014/05/04 18:01:50 [Files] File001=2014_04_28_13_20_00_000F_0000_0000_0000 File002=2014_04_28_13_21_59_000F_0000_0000_0000 File003=2014_04_28_13_23_57_000F_0000_0000_0000 File004=2014_04_28_13_25_00_000F_0000_0000_0000 File005=2014_04_28_13_26_57_000F_0000_0000_0000 File006=2014_04_28_13_29_00_000F_0000_0000_0000 File007=2014_04_28_13_30_00_000F_0000_0000_0000 File008=2014_04_28_13_31_51_000F_0000_0000_0000
How do you join all those files into a single mp4 video file I can watch on a windows or Linux box?
Any link to utilities to join video data and/or the description of that type of file format?
Thank you,
lbrtchx

Can you play any of the files with vlc media player? Maybe they require that special player.
-
These are cctv videos ?
They normally only play with that player. -
if I run vlc and then select:
File > Open Directory
I get the error message:
Code:Because this AVI file index is broken or missing, seeking will not work correctly. VLC won't repair your file but can temporary fix this problem by building an index in memory. This step might take a long time on a large file. What do you want to do?

Does sound like CCTV footage, like DB83 said, it usually requires it's specific player (mcdplayer). if you're lucky, you might be able to find a converter program from the manufacture. Or resort to doing a screencap of the video in the dedicated player.
I've never been able to just merge them in their original state unless the function was built in to the provided software.
