You need to find a video game forum. The techniques for backing up games vs. DVD Video are two completely different things.

    PS3 discs aren't typically DVD - I believe BluRay.

  4. You topic says ps2 & your post says ps3.

    You cannot backup ps3 games.

If you have a BD burner and the right software (Img Burn/AnyDVD HD either or) and you can copy any BD. But the real issue is getting them to play in you PS3.

Well for starters, this has absolutely NOTHING to do with "dvd authoring", off topic at best.

Second, DVD Shrink & DVD43 are pretty much dvd VIDEO only tools and have absolutely NO use for a PS2 game.

    Third,
an error Came up Saying Warning:A Required privilige is not held bye this client.
Not sure what's up with that!
    Maybe some more detail ?

It almost sounds like you installed it on a system you do not have admin rights on ??

I have always just used dvd decrypter to back up every PS2 game i have ever had, regardless if it was a single or DL dvdr.

    ISO read, ISO write.

maybe.... but it seems to be more of a PS2 (playstation 2 game backup Q) more than a PC Q.

But seeing as he is getting some kind of "error" message, which is not real clear from his post, i guess it could be a "pc" or actually a "software" issue.

    Error is > http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc978904.aspx

Most likely caused by logging in by using limited user account and application requires elevation to run with administrator privileges.

Ps2 games can be backed by using any dvd drive and dvd decrypter and require ps2 to be modified.

Ps2 dont need to be modified, just use magic swap discs.ImgBurn is a good app to make backups as long as you login as a user with adminstration privileges.

Getting a hold of magic swap discs is another problem.

And do not work for all games.

Magic swap are easy to get and play 99% of the games, putting in a mod chip is even harder, have you tried using magic swap discs vs mod chips?

Yeah swap magic disc's are pretty easy to get and cheap if you actually look around.
It is hard to find older versions though.

I have run across quite a few games that will only play on a specific version of swap magic disc's.
Some older versions and some others only on newer versions, but most games it does not matter.

But i have 3 different versions of SM so i don't worry about it 8)

  15. You don't need dvddecrypter to backup PS2 games, you can use any disk copy program.

Use -r, write at 4x to start. Newer ps2's can read +r

Older ps2 can read dvd+r with bitsetting. They can even read dvdrw which the newer ps2 cant read.I burn at 8x and find no difference in play quality(skipping) compared to 4x as long as you use good quality dvdr.

Mine and everyone else i know that has the newer PS2's, they all read +R just fine.

But all i/we use is verbatim +R's with the booktype set to DVD-ROM.

And no one said he "had" to use dvd decrypter to BU ps2 games, but it's nice, small, fast and easy.

And it does NOT have a ton of extra crap you don't need or bloatware.

And from the problem he "seems" to be having, using a different software would not make any difference.

I had the same message ("a required privilege is not held by the client") trying to make a backup of 3 different CDs of Pilates. The answers here not were a solution but they were useful to get it: only change the Destination for the ISO file, a LAN hard disk (named Z instead of C:.

    This case solved
