hi, i am experieicing a weird problem :

i was finding it hard to create and seed using transmission, so i changed to bits on wheels, which i found very slow, though i did manage to upload a new torrent with it.

i decided to change back to transmission.

also bits on wheels kept crashing.

i have about 20 compleated torrents to seed in my external hard drive.

i redownloaded transmission and started dragging the torrents back into transmission, to begin with they started as usual, tranmssion checked the existing data and started to seed the compleated files.

then it started behaving weirdly, saying that there was not enough disc space to download and pausing torrents, but these torrents are compleate and stored in the hard drive. there seems to be no logic to which compleated torrents it would open to seed and which it was trying to re-download... they are all compleated.

it doesnt make sense to me at all... anyone?

weirdness with transmission led me to using Azureus.

sounds like transmission believes the torrents are new, not complete.
I would switch to Azureus, and try it .

Yes, Azureus but not the very latest version. 3.0.2 works fine. Some torrent sites won't let you in if you use the newer versions.

Yes i think i ll have too - everyone on their boards is too important to answers my questions..

i really like transmission though, its very light and i like the interface... but i think i'm going to have to. I did have a go at downloadeing it but it had loads of ads and looked very flashy so i got rid of it again. Do you find that its very heavy/ slows your mac down? Bit on wheels was very draining but i'm on an intel mac and they're last biuld was 2 years ago i think....

thanks for the answer and advice by the way...
hows your project going? Mines done!!! thanks fck

On an Intel Mac, Azureus will cause Parallels to lock up. Just a word to the wise.

I have to agree rumple, v. 2.5.04 is the most stable for me.
    I use it on a b/w g3 350 with 640mb of ram, under
10.4.8 and it works, with only a minor hang up
(full memory stack) and I occasionally have to restart it
once every 72 hours. but other than that, it is fine.

    v. 3.02 causes the g3 to get unexpected quits after
six to seven hours of use. you can restart Azureus v. 3.02
and everything is running again, but eventually it will
cause it to unexpectedly quit again. So I stick with v. 2.5.04.

    and @ Intel Macs....is this v 3.02 or have you tried v. 2.5.04?
Definitley seems to be Rosetta related I would imagine?

I updated the 2.5.x version on my PPC PowerBook last night and it ended up as 3.2.x but during the install, it displayed a message that the PPC version would not be updated using the "Vuze" something-or-other. I think this is the part that the tracker sites don't like as the upgraded app is still working fine with those sites.

It may be this "Vuze" thing (which, if I remember correctly, I had seen running on my MacBook before I lobotomized it recently) that's causing the trouble and may require an Intel CPU on the Mac in order to run. Confusing...

Never had this problem. Running Azureus 2.5.0.4 on a MBP 2.33 with 2GB RAM.

    Howdy Folks:

Just downloaded .06.1 Transmission- which I originally used - switched to Azureus

    want to switch back

What steps will I have to take to get my files / seed & leech into transmission ?

Will upgrade to 8.2 once I upgrade OS x to Tiger or Leopard

    Cheers in advance:
