i have philip dvd divx player DVP3256, it support (smi, srt, sub etc) for subtitles.
i have a ssa subtititle file which plays correctly in my pc, as well as in my divx dvd player, the only problem is that is lost is formatting when played in divx dvd player, it is appear as if i have supplied a srt subtitles
on pc it appear in sharper, clearer, bolder yellow color, in vlc, classic media player, and wmp
but on divx player it appear as normal subtiles

Cause it doesn't support ssa styles.
Maybe you could convert it to image subtitles with AVIAddXSubs. -
well, what you are saying is true,
another thing i would like to say about the aviaddxsubs and other similar softwares,is that i have used all of them to create (idx+sub) subtitles, but the subtitles create by them arent much good looking ,
subtittles created with aviaddxsub and other similar softwares arent much sharper, clearer and bolder , they appear as text with rough egdes,
is there any other software which can create much sharper subtitles for divx player
i donot want to reincode the video
