THandBrake (formerly Smallx264) is a batch GUI for Handbrake.

    --Features
-Select between multiple audio/subtitle tracks or select all
-If subtitle file (srt) with same name as source exists, it can be soft-coded to output.
    -Device profiles (Android, iPod etc)
    -User profiles
    -Preview option
    -Portable version available
    -Video Filters
    -Manual or auto cropping

You can download setup from here.

Suggestions and bug reports are, as always, welcome.

Please note that this program uses the latest HandBrakeCLI build, so there can be problems. You can always download a different build, rename files properly and copy them to the program folder. As long as there are no command changes, it should work without a problem.

  7. If you don't mind, may I ask?

What's the difference with this and TX264. Well, I know TX264 is an x264 GUI while this one is a Handbrake engine GUI, but don't they share the same purpose?

    Not exactly.

There a couple of differences but summary is that TX264 offers more options and can encode to aac-he whereas smallx264 was intended to be small and easy.

Personally I use TX264 to encode anime content (x264 10bit+aac-he), for other content I use smallx264. TX264 is also better if you want internal subtitles to be copied to output. And I also don't like HB windows GUI myself .

    @GrafZeppelin I might stop developing tx264 if/when handbrake supports encoding to 10bit.

x264.exe doesn't support burning subtitles so I can't. You can try creating an avs script that it and open it with TX264 but then there wont be audio encoding.

Then how other softwares like handbrake, staxrip, xvid4psp, ripbot supports burning subtitles? I mean, they are encoders and they use x264 too... I don't understand, there has to be a way to include this option.

Staxrip, xvid4psp and ripbot use avisynth to burn subtitles in. Handbrake doesn't use x264.exe directly as TX264 does, AFAIK it is a wrapper around libx264 with its own routines and ways.

Oh, i see, then, can you use avisynth in TX264 or make smallx264 able to use a high10 profile?
ps: Everything i said until now are just suggestions and questions and not a complain. Thanks

I'm afraid I can't do that. It would require me to write whole thing from start. Smallx264 will have 10bit support when handbrake does.

  23. Due to recent changes in HandBrake, it's worth noting that this current release is incompatible with Windows XP.

I think it's the GUI that has problems with XP not the command line interface.

    Yes.

But there's no point in installing this on XP for it's "Batch GUI for Handbrake" description.

The CLI is for people who understand it. The GUI is for people who ain't got a clue i.e. me

I guess you are missing the point that smallx264 is a totally different tool from official GUI or VidCoder. AFAIK offical GUI and VidCoder are developed using WPF while Delphi is used for Smallx264. It most likely won't run on win98 or ME because of unicode stuff but it should run on XP.

Edit: To make things even more clear, Smallx264 calls HandBrakeCLI to do the job.

With the latest update, it doesn't.

And I think this is down to the changes in HandBrake.

Neither HandBrake (nightlies) nor VidCoder (1.5.7 or greater) work on XP.

What sort of error do you get? Is it related to the GUI or HandBrakeCLI?

@mike20021969 an other user too reported that and said version 0.9.1 worked for them so I included HandBrakeCli from that build in 1.1.
