So I have some .MKV files that are not blu-ray spec that I'd like to make DVDs out of. I still like physical media and some of the people I give discs to need physical media.

Anyhow, I know TSMuxer will make blu-ray ISO files from MKVs without reencoding.

Is there something that will make a DVD ISO the same way? It seems there should be or is, I just don't know which one is best. I am looking for something that (Hopefully) works like TSMuxer, where all I have to do is input the file and it spits it out in the correct format. In this case, a working DVD with Video and Audio TS folders.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks

Without reencoding/converting? Not a chance. Not for Macs and not even with a PC.

'Not a chance' might be a bit hasty. It's only 99% 'not a chance'. One would need to know what's inside the MKV to be sure, but what's downloaded from what was originally a Blue-Ray source and made into an MKV won't be able to be converted to DVD without a full reencode. Post the text info from Mediainfo so we can be sure.

So, yes, do a full conversion using some Mac program. Or AvsToDVD as smrpix suggested if you have access to a PC.

I mean, I guess if worse came to worse, I could use TS Muxer and make Blu-ray ISOs, but as these are not blu-ray spec, I don't know that it would work (Or be necessary)

  7. Neither of the videos about whose specs you posted is DVD-compliant so both will have to be converted, both audio and video. Neither can be made into Blu-Rays, either, without reencoding, although maybe the video of the second is okay for Blu-Ray. Maybe a Mac user (few and far between for this kind of work) will come along and suggest a program that can do it.
