How does one make VirtualDub hardcode all VobSub (idx/sub) subtitles into the corresponding AVI in a directory? Right now I'm having to encode by hand.

With some creative scripting (batch file or VBS script) you should be able to make the commandline version work.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Dran, was hoping someone had already done it. Last time I did any minor programming was in Pascal. Thank you all the same, and glad to hear any answer.
