  1. Hello,

i've got an wmv video which can't be played by my Sony Blu-Ray player because the bitrate (440 Kbps) is too high.
I already extracted/demuxed the audio stream.
Now i'm searching for a program which can convert/downmix the bitrate to e.g. 320 kbps (WMA to WMA).

Does anyone have an idea which program could help?

    Regards
    Michael

  2. Audacity (free) with the ffmpeg plugin (also free) can read and write WMA files.

  3. Thanks for the valueable answer.
How can i downmix the bitrate with Audacity? I opened the wma audio file but then couldn't find an entry in the menu?

  4. You probably need to install the ffmpeg plugin for audacity. But audacity doesn't handle video directly, so you would have to export the audio and remuxed it at a separate stage with something else.

An easier option that can do this in 1 step would be tencoder

Set video to "direct copy", audio to "wmav2" with the desired bitrate, and container to "WMV"

File -> Export -> WMA (file type pulldown)
