    We are getting ready to switch to Taiyo Yuden dvd-r. We burn everything at 4x. Which type of the Taiyo Yuden will last the longest in permanent storage. Cost is not a factor.

  2. you only have 2 dvd-r t.y. choices:
    TYG02 = dvd-r 8x
    TYG03 = dvd-r 16x

    just don't buy t.y. "valueline" blanks. as for lasting longest.... tyg02's have been around longer, no one is reporting weird failures yet.
    get some of both and see if your burners prefer one over the other?

    Any of them will be fine.
    The biggest factor right now is burn speed. Only burn from 4x to 12x, not 16x or faster.

    The difference is a few minutes at very most, and at great quality loss potential if done too fast.
