    Can someone give me a recommendation on a CD ripper program that rips to mp3's etc?

    I used Window Media player but it only rips to .Wav.

    I need a good program to maintain a library, rip to mp3 or WMA and also normalize the music.

    This is for backup purposes only.

    Version 10 of Windows media player rips to mp3.
    You have to set it in the options to use mp3 or wma.
    What version are you using ?

    I believe Goldwave will do what you want.
    It is a very flexible program with a solid reputation and I believe they still offer a trial period so you can experiment and try it before buying.
