  1. Why not download it from videohelp or the original homepage,.. ?
    You first need to install Hybrid and then replace the Hybrid.exe with the binary from the link I'll send you via pm.

    I posted the Avisynth script for a reason

    I didN'T say it could be used "only in MeGUI" -.-

    There is no VfW interface for the G2M4 format, not even in ffdshow, therefore the Avisynth intermediation is required if you want to open the weird WMV files in VirtualDub.

    When I suggested the use of ffmpeg, I didn't say anything about using it together with VirtualDub.

  3. ffmpeg&mencoder both can handle the file without a problem, so both should work.

    @Selur:
    Ok, I did all that. The problem is when I press 'Add to queue' it does not add it to the queue, so obviously whe I press 'Start Queue' nothing happens. Also I always get those messages like : "ffmpeg called but wasn't initialised" , " ... called but wasn't initialised". Hope that doesn't have anything to do with anything ..

  5. Yeah, got a note from another user, seems to be related to Hybrid not getting the cpu count.
    -> try to do a restart of Hybrid after saving the defaults and try then.

    Ok. I went to config- > Save All and applied it. I closed Hybrid, then started it again. Did the same process again but it behaved exactly the same: it doesn't add the job to queue.

    Are you sure this is the hibryd.exe you used ?

  7. Yes, I'm sure, but my environment I run it in is a bit different.
    -> Try the latest 2014.10.15.1 I just released, bit might fix the issue for you.

    Ok.
    Well, it was the same unfortunately, it did not add to the queue.
    Also the last message it gives when trying to add the job was something like :

    Current output frame rate 29.97 is not allowed.

    Don't know if that's the reason ..

    This should only happen if you enable Blu-ray compatibility, since Blu-ray does not support 29.97fps for progressive content.
    -> do not enable stuff unless you know what you are doing.

    Well, I didn't enabled anything extra. All that was enabled was enabled by default. Yes, I disabled Hardware and now it seems it does something, but seems like a long process.. . Does 'Rest Time' mean "Estimated time left"

    yes.

    The speed mainly depends on the preset chosen, I normally use 'slow' or 'slower', but if that's too slow for you, you can select a faster preset.

    All that was enabled was enabled by default.
    That is really strange, since Hardware Restriction isn't enabled by default. (you can check by resetting to the default settings: Config->Defaults->Reset->All + Apply selected)

    Ok, thank you for all this information.
    What would be a good reason to put preset on slow ?

  15. A slower the preset produces a better quality/bitrate ratio (especially for small details), depending on the content and the other settings (and personal taste), 'ultra fast' might be okay. Personally I prefer 'slow' or 'slower'.

    Ok, thank you again for the info.
    When it still had around 2h 20 min to work for rest time, suddenly it finished, I looked at the file and it was ok, it played with all the players I have and it was complete.
    Thank you very much Selur!

  17. That's probably because of the nature of the material and the fact that it's average fps is on around 7fps. Since MediaInfo&Co do not provide a frame count Hybrid guesses the frame count from the duration and frame rate indicated in the headers. In your case 29.97fps which is roughly 4 times the average.
    -> so Hybrid will assume that there are 4 times more frames in the material (may be I'll workaround that in a future release )

    @selur :
    Any chance Hybrid would work in converting G2M5 codec to mp4 ?
