    Hi
I've subtitled a film in English as an ssa file (as it enables different colours for speakers etc. which srt doesn't) - but I'm very new to this game.
We also have about 7 translations of the English script into various languages (including Arabic).

Is there an easy way to import the languages one at a time while keeping the ssa formatting and timestamps from the English subtitles?
Eg using Excel?? Or do I have to copy and paste each line within Subtitle Edit - and then for all the languages - Ouch !

    Thanks for all your help,
    John

Can't you just open the ssa file directly in SE?

    Hi Ennio
    Thanks for your reply.
Yes no problem there. In fact I have created the ssa file in subtitle edit.
It's more about how to import the various translations into SE without having to manually copy and replace each line within SE a line at at time.
So for example the English ssa file is perfect in terms of timings, colours for different speakers etc.
We have 6 separate scripts which are translations. How to get eg the Dutch or Arabic text to replace the English without losing any of the formatting.
    Thanks again for your help.
