Any way to link to play a segment of a larger streaming file?

Does anyone know how to upload one large video file (~20 minutes) and then create links that would just play it in smaller segments - like from 2:25 to 2:50?
Is there some sort of software/streaming site that can do this - or do I have to break up the large file into smaller chunks?
Just trying to avoid hours of tedious editing...

It should be able to be done through flash streaming using chapter seek points , but I'm not sure how to specify the out point (only the in point) with this method
