  1. Dear Friends
I have got few DVR files from a OEM Chinese DVR. Local law enforcement agency is unable to play / convert them. I have gone through few posts in this regard. Attached are snaps of Mediainfo.
I have read that matrivideo player ,runs IFV files .I could not get this player off internet. I have also emailed to instek digital ,but don't know whether they will give these tools.
    any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Chipsang

ft that doesn't help, post a sample so others can look at such a file.

The Chinese dvr which supports ifv ... when selecting backup should show a box with out put type options ifv or avi ... always use avi.

    Try this converter

Ps: media player 9 and up should be able to play ifv

    Hi Selur
Thanks a Lot for your time & concern.
Yes I tried both tools. IRFTOOL says " Its not a H.264 file. I have made a 5 MB sample file , MKVMERGE has detected video data correctly from this sample file & has convertered it into MKV ,which runs in VLC player as well.
However when tried to convert full 128MB file ,MKVMERGE says file is either corrupt or some issue with MKVMERGE itself.
Unfortunately I could not send file due to restrictions. but Thanks for your suggestion , I could do at least little progress.
    Warm regards
