I just got some of these and was trying to find any compatability listings before I open them.

They are nowhere to be found!

BTW: is the mediamatch site current these days???

I don't think he knows the media ID code he hasn't opened the pack yet.

  4. If you know MID, you know compatability. Why? I think same MID has different compatability.

Sorry guys, but yes, I haven't opened them.

Staples will take them back if they don't work so I guess I should try them ASAP and get maybe another spindle at this price depending on what they turn out to be.

Disk is a nifty "RGB" red!

  6. DVD-R? I thought HP only made DVD+R media? I couldn't find any info on it on the Staples site...

  7. they have lots of 8x DVD-R and DVD+R spindles at my store. Made in Taiwan on label. just cuz you only make DVD+R burners doesn't mean you can't sell the - variety... esp if you don't make it yourself. just your "label". all about money, bro. hell, next you'll see HP Pizzas for sale. why not??

I would hope those HP -Rs are a decent disk and not like Memorex junk.

    Mediamatch doesn't even show them.

    How can this be???

Most likely HP-branded DVD-R will be CMC media, even as the +Rs are.

I bought a 50pk of 52x CD-R from them (HP label) and they are CMC's.
The 50pack was less than $8.00 US.

  13. "Made in Taiwan on label."

    Those are usually prodisks.

Cheap stuff, but my Nec 3500 enjoys made in taiwan.

  14. They are CMC. "CMCMAG AE1". No problem with any of my writers.
    NEC-6500A, DVR-K14 and Teac DV-W28E.
