Hi, I'm trying to convert analog tapes from my video camera to DVD. A few years ago my wife bought a Dazzle but when we upgraded to XP it never worked. We just got a new HP machine with Vista, so I went out and bought a Pinnacle Studio 11 and it come with a converter 710-USB. Hooked it up and it won't preview the the video so I can't capture it. If we plug the camcorder directly into the HPs RCA jacks I can see the video, however it's been crashing my machine, I don't think it was designed for that.

So what I'm looking for is what should I buy to get these analog tapes converted?? I have about 15 tapes to convert so I don't want to spend a fortune on the hardware, but I want something that works.

I look forward to your suggestions.

    Thanks! Mike

It's a Hitachi, about 11 years old... I'll have to post the model number when I get home tonight.

That's old - predates USB by a few years. From a 1996 review:

    Outputs
    Composite video, mono audio
