the error i get is..
I saw the video running in aVid..so i know theyre not broken.. i took the externalDrive with me home.. and only one file opens.. the rest does not..Code:After Effects: AEGP Plugin OMF: OMF file is not a video OMFI ( 5027 :: 12 )
Am i missing out on something?
note (im using adobeAfterEffects 7 pro)
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Try renaming the files to raw .dv extension.
They should open in After Effects then.
BTW, in order to change the file extension, you have to make sure you have "Hide files extensions for known files types" in windows explorer turned off. -
thanks.. i never tried if it worked tho.. the avid guy is going to export to a "normal" video output..thanks for your solution tho.. ill try it next time ill run into that problem.
(i bet someone else will find this post useful anyways) -
Be sure he's exporting it to a non-propriety Avid format (Lossless Quicktime or AVI). Because, if he does, you still might not be able to open them.
If that's the case, then you'd need the codecs. They are freely available on Avid's site.
