Hello, I captured my friend's wedding on my SonyHandycam Mini-DVD camcorder and used several discs throughout the evening. All of them are fine except for the one with the 2nd half of the wedding!!!
I think my husband put it in his suit pocket and now it has a lot of light scratches on it. I put it in my Sony cam to finalized and realized that it will only play the beginning portion of the disc and the rest of it comes up as ??? in the thumbprint screen. I tried playing it in the Sony Handycam but it will only play the beginning portion.
I haven't done another thing with it - I wanted to get some advice first -
SHOULD I TRY TO CLEAN IT AND BUFF OUT SCRATCHES FIRST OR SHOULD I TRY TO FINALIZE IT FIRST??????????
I'm not sure what to try first so I don't make the problem worse
I would greatly appreciate any and all advice - Thank you so much!
Rebecca

Ok so if I try to finalize the disc with the scratches will it make it worse? Or if I try to buffer it out first will I still be able to finalize it after?
Please some advice -
all choices are yours. no one can guarantee any scratch removal attempt won't make things worse.
