Can I import any standard .mov file into Final cut X? Or what about importing a Final Cut quicktime file, which is also self-contained. I already know that it cannot open actual projects from previous versions of F. C. but if it can import rendered out files like the ones I've mentioned, that would be good.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

IIRC: Yes, Yes, and on it's way.
Do remember that FCP likes to work with minimally compressed files so, if your file is H264/AAC, you might want to transcode it first into Apple Intermediate Codec (or ProRes) so applying effects won't require constant re-rendering into to display the results of the effect.
