When I preview the movie I made right in Vegas I can see the video fine. But when I render it and try to watch it in Windows Media Player (or any other program) it's just a black screen. Do I need a codec or something? I just got this program recently and I'm still learning the ropes.

In what container(.mp4,.avi,etc) and what video codec(h264,divx,etc) are you exporting to?

For mp4 and h264 video you need codecs to be able to play it directly in wmp.

I'm a beginner and don't exactly know what you mean, but I'm trying to save as .avi and don't know which codec I'm exporting to.

EDIT: I figured out the problem! I had to uncheck a box on the render window. I appreciate your help.

Also, I don't want to create too many threads so I was just wondering if there's a way to have two videos in one? Like a split screen.

EDIT: Figured it out too. Haha, sorry.
