  1. I am refromatting my comp due to some malware that is slowing it down. When I reinstall Windows, there are two partitions C and D drive. Most of the OS stuff is on C, so I select that to delete partition and recreate partition.
I did not delete partition on the D. Is that ok? Does it mean the stuff on my D drive will still be there?

Is it safer to delete both drives and start over or is it ok just to delete the C only?

"D" drive is ok to delete only if you don't have data on there that you need to keep. If you have data on it then there's no reason to delete the partition. Just delete "C" because that's where windows is.

  3. Except that if the reason you are re-formatting is to remove a virus, you may very well be wasting your time leaving files on D:, as some of them may be infected.

The reason re-formatting works is that it gets rid of EVERYTHING. The described procedure does not do that.
