    Trying out my free DVD authoring software, I see where the first play video is auto-selected when you put the disc into the player. I figured out how to change the first play but this software is kinda goofy. It creates chapters pages even if you don't want them. Then you have to delete them all. It also doesn't handle HDV very well. No wonder they dumped it for better coding.
