Hello
I shot a 2h conference tonight in Standard mode to compare with the default HD mode.
I noticed two things:
- the video is split in several 2GB MPG files in \MP_ROOT\100PNV01\, while HD was a single file
- for some reason, \DCIM\100MSDCF is filled with JPGs of the conference, about one every 20 seconds
Does someone know why the camcorder took pictures in addition to the MPG files?
Thank you.

Haven't got this camera but another sony. Is it because the delegates/speakers were smiling?
You can disable the smile shutter -
That could well be it: While shooting, the faces were highlighted by an orange square.
Apparently, this is how to turn this feature off: Menu > Camera/mic > Face: Face Detection = Off
Thank you. -
That's pretty silly. Turn off face detection while doing videos so that you don't get stills.? Is that a bug?

i think the whole "smile shutter" thing is ridiculous.

Besides, if the user needs stills of a video, it's always possible to take snapshots in a video player.
