AVSToDVD fails to author DVD from BluRay due to zero bit rate audio track?

I have been trying to convert a BluRay to DVD now for several days using AVSToDVD v2.7.3. I ripped the BlueRay (Olympus has Fallen) to my laptop hard drive using AnyDVD and then added the main .m2ts file from the Stream directory into AVSToDVD. There is only one sound track and is in English. However, the bit rate is showing as 0 kbps. The authoring process consistently fails. I have since completely removed the program and all the associated programs (ffmpeg etc) and re-installed from the downloaded package to ensure that I am using the recommended versions. Still the same problem. I then tried authoring from a different BluRay (Oblivion) and this has 7 sound tracks but offers the first one as the default. Again, it has 0 kbps and the authoring fails. If I choose one of the other sound tracks, it works but I get French or Italian when I really want English! I don't believe that it is a problem with my audio settings as this problem occurs at the point I import the title initially.

With the time I have spent trying to use this package I could more cost-effectively gone out and purchased a DVD copy of both BluRays, but I hate being beaten by something that should work. If someone can advise me what may be going wrong I would much appreciate it. I am a relative newby to AVSToDVD but am a software developer by trade and have been ripping DVDs to MP4 for some time now and keep my video collection on my NAS and stream titles to my TVs and tablets. Has AVStoDVD EVER worked for you with BluRay sources?

I've never used it, but from looking at the website, maybe it's not intended to be used with BluRay sources. DTS-HD having 0 bits in nonsensical, so that to me seems to be trying (in a bad way) to tell you that it doesn't understand the audio format, which means it's probably not intended to be used with BluRay rips. What is your ultimate goal? To produce some kind of MP4 file that you can stream to tablets? If so maybe someone can suggest a better program for BluRay sources.

BD rebuilder can convert to DVD. I haven't tried it though.

I had issues in the past with DTS HD MA audio in AVStoDVD. I finally gave up trying to convert Blu-ray to DVD-video in this program because this type of audio has become so common in Blu-ray movies.

I use BD Rebuilder for this conversion, though it isn't a type of conversion I do often these days.

The above log show the program aborting in the Video encoding... Didn't even get to the audio.

I downloaded a sample m2ts/DTS and it encoded fine. One difference in mine,
I did force directshowsource (FFDshow in Windows XP) for the video (in preferences).

Thank you to all who have replied, it is appreciated. I have had several more attempts to convert a BluRay without success. The video conversion is failing, as you have pointed out and changing the various option settings has had no effect. I have also tried using a trial version of Wondershare DVD creator that also fails (video is fine but no sound track). I can play the original BluRay .mts file on the laptop using VLC with both video and sound being perfect, so I am assuming that the rip via AnyDVD is ok. I am at a loss at this point to know where to go from here. Below is the last log and a snapshot of the project once loaded into AVSToDVD.

Is it REALLY? Because I tried to help and I asked you THREE questions and you have not answered any of them. So best of luck to you. I'm through wasting my time here. Based on your response it seems that you aren't paying attention to anything anybody else is telling you either.

I want you to think seriously about this because it applies to you. It's my final advice to you.

A guy keeps moving his arm in an unnatural way and it hurts. So he goes to the doctor.

Hint - maybe it's time to give up on AVSToDVD, but 3 of us have basically told you this and you aren't listening, so back to square one with you while you continue to bash your head against a brick wall.

I think he's trying to create a DVD from Blu-ray sources. One thing you could try (I had success with a sample .m2ts file on my PC)
Open the program, enter preferences and set FFMpegsource for avisynth tab/video. Leave the avisynth/audio as A2dsource.
Now add the source and start the project.

If it fails again, try the AvstoDVD latest 2.74 alpha. Which OS is this?

Also, at the top of the screen, codecs/build dshow filters graph. You should get a graph like, this,
also the file should be playable from there. Does it work?

1. My goal: Reduce a BluRay disc down to a DVD (The holiday rental I go to only has a DVD player and no means of plugging any other type of external player to the TV)
2. AVSToDVD did work with one BluRay (Oblivion) but the audio track was French - never managed to get an English sound track. Olympus has Fallen BluRay fails the video conversion, whatever settings I use.
3. I already use CucuSoft video converter to rip DVDs to MP4 format. However, MP4 format is too "Jerky" when panning so I would prefer to go from BluRay to DVD direct rather than BluRay->MP4->DVD

I've never seen a graph like that. Why multiple instances of FFDshow? Might work better if you disable
the MS filter - look at the top of the main AVStoDVD screen, codecs/preferred dshow codecs setup.

However, that doesn't explain why FFMpegsource failed, since that is independent of directshow.
Another thing to try, remux the file to an MKV. Open the source with mkvtoolnix/mkvmerge, select the streams
you want and create the MKV.
