    Hi,
I recently received an EVGA GT220, 1GB, DDR3 video board. My computer presently has 8GB of DDR2 RAM.
Can I use the DDR3 graphic board on my computer without having to change the DDR2 RAM?
I really appreciate any help that you may offer!
    Cheers,
    Fred

The DDR3 video memory is internal to the card. It has no relationship to motherboard memory.

    In other words no problem.

Yes + what edDV said. (He typed faster.)

P.S. Update the computer specs in your profile to avoid confusing idiots like me who always read them when answering computer-related questions.

Yes, right you are. I do need to update!
Thank you all for you help. It's certainly a relief to know that I don't have to exchange the card for a DDR2...
    Cheers,
    Fred
