  1. Hi,

I am getting into using the .mkv container for archiving my movies. It is flexible enough that I can go back and add audio files or swap subtitles etc...even add DVD chapter info to a DvX file, it is really amazing.

The only problem I am having is finding a DVD Chapter extractor for Mac. At the moment I have to unfortunately use parallels and use a Windows program called ChapterXtractor at http://www.digital-digest.com/software/download.php?sid=588&ssid=0&did=1

Is there a Mac version or something that does the same job?

Creating .mkv files is slightly fiddly going through a few different apps but the end results are amazing. I don;t see it talked about enough really but here is a guide I am following for it: http://homepage.mac.com/janlitzinger/.Public/HowToCreateMkvs.zip

    Cheers

  3. mkvtoolnix (mkvextract) does not extract chapter info directly from DVDs (IFO files). It will extract chapter info from MKV files though, but the chapter extraction feature is only barely implemented and not too flexible.
