    Hello,

I wonder if it is possible to split TS files so I can change the subs, and rebuild the ts file with the new subs.
It is to translate the original subs into another language.

For instance, I h,ave a recorded TS file in witch the subs on page 888 are English, and I want to change, or ad extra, in Dutch.

    Please help,

    Dd

It is only a guess because N. America doesn't use DVB, but TSRemux might work for de-multiplexing and re-multiplexing a TS file obtained from a DVB broadcast. ProjectX is another tool for de-multiplexing DVB TS files, but does not re-multiplex. I don't have any suggestions regarding how you would go about editing the subtitles themselves.

Most people merely extract the audio, video, and any subtitles they want to keep, convert or make changes to the subtitles, and then re-multiplex to a completely different container, such as mkv.

As you are in Belgium use ProjectX to demux into audio, video and subtitles. Then put the audio and video and new subtile track all into a mKV container using MKVMerge GUI - as the previous reply said you can't remux in ProjectX but using MKVMerge GUI won't degrade or process the files in anyway. If you actually need TS format for your media player assuming it doesn't like MKV then use tsMuxerGUI instead of MKVMerge GUI

Just tried an experiment I put an Australian off air TS recording direct into MKVMerge subs are at 801 and it showed the audio, video and subs. Not sure how it might handle multiple subs? You would just untick your sub on page 888.

ProjectX - MKVMergeGUI - TS MuxerGUI do not have encoders and cannot change the quality in any way. They merely put the contents in a different container. So nothing to worry about.
