Hello
As the title says, I have a problem with rewinding in SW. I have difficult to time to explain this problem, so this may be somewhat confusing post (this post probably should be in the newbies section too, so move it there if seen necessary).
Now, I am trying to create subtitles for an old TV show but rewinding back in SW messes up timing. For example, first lines are said at 1:32, but if I watch past that point and rewind back at 1:32 it has totally different lines going on. Rewinding back to that time will have different lines every time (it goes off by couple seconds, but after multiple rewindings in one video those seconds add up quite horribly). This goes on and on till, according to the timer under the video, first lines are said at 0:10. Which clearly can't be.
So, every time I rewind the timer on the right side does not match with the time bar under the video. But if I stop the video and start all over, everything is fine again.
I have a feeling that rewinding in SW shrinks the video from the beginning, like cutting material away and doesn't work like it should. But, since I've found only one person with this same problem after my long-ish search over internet, I've come to the conclusion that this problem is at my end - that, or I just am not quite aware how to use SW correctly.
Thanks in advance (hopefully someone understands my problem).

What version are you using? 2.51 or 4 or 2.52 RC( http://www.urusoft.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=11889 )?
Try different versions and see how it works.
If it fails then it's probably some directshow decoder/splitter problem. It may work better if you install ffdshow and maybe disable windows 7 built in decoders with Win7DSFilterTweaker.
Or use Subtitle Edit. -
I had SW4, downloaded version 2.51 and 2.52 RC but I am having the same problem with both of them (and additionally there is no picture either, only sound, heh)
I downloaded Subtitle Edit but nothing happens when I open a video (doing something wrong probably?).
I am yet to try ffdshow and WinTweaker but if nothing else works I'll try to do it that way this evening.
Cheers. -
I second installing ffdshow
Read about Subtitle Edit and video: http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEdit/Help#codecs -
Ok, Subtitle Edit works perfectly. I just downloaded and installed ffdshow and "WinTweak" too, I don't quite know how to "use" them properly, yet, but I'll seek help from some manuals/guides (which ever they are to be called in this case).
Thanks guys, it seems all is good.
