I want to capture a frame from my home video off of *.mts file while playing on PowerDVD.

I've try unlead video to capture the same frame, but the software degrate the quality of the picture.

    it's 1920x1080 format.

is there a better software preserve the quality of the picture or some way to capture it out of PowerDVD?

    Thanks

I don't have the latest PowerDVD but VLC will do it in high quality with choice of deinterlace method. On the menu bar go to Video_Still_Snapshot. You can use any deinterlace mode in that same menu. Here is a quarter res 960x540 sample snapshot from 1080i broadcast.

Click on picture to see 960x540 res

Try media player classic, file save->image. You probably need to install ffdshow.

Or VLC Media Player should probably work fine too.

  6. Pretty sure PowerDVD has a snapshot facility. I know mine has (version 7.3).
I capture 1920x1088 shots from my bluray backups regularly.
Capture as BMP for lossless, quality images.
It stores them here: C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerDVD\Snapshot as default.

  7. If you're looking to capture a range, vdub an do this as well

.mts can be loaded through avisynth into vdub ; avisynth also offers high quality deinterlacers compared to other programs
