When I try to play .MP4 file, i get message "Cannot render the file"
This is info on the movie:

And this is how my player is configured:

I can play some .MP4 files, like the ones i download from youtube.
Also I cant play any file recorded on my cellphone (.MP4 [H.264])

Any idea what do i have to do?
    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I can play this file normally in WMP 12, but I can't use subtitles, nor I like that program anyway

  2. you don't have aac audio configured in the transform filters

if that doesn't work, try remuxing with yamb (just repackage it)

what happens when you play in another player e.g. vlc, kmplayer ? perhaps your file is damaged?

I had the same problem with MPC-HC. It couldn't play .MP4 HD file. Had to ditch it and go back to old good MPC that plays everything (with the help of ffdshow).

I tried enabling AAC, but nothing changed.
I will do remuxing as a last option
Like I said, I tryed playing in WMP 12 and everything goes smooth so it's not because of file.

  5. sorry I missed that it plays on WMP12

try disabling MPCHC's internal mp4 source filter (i.e use the system directshow installed one)

if you have haali splitter installed, it can be problematic with mp4 , so I would re-install it and disable mp4 support

i got rid of mpc-hc last week also. for some reason it could not play HDV files no matter what i tried. mpc and vlc both work fine. it might be the latest version of mpc-hc has problems working under win7?

Also, MPC 6.4.9.1 CAN play this file without a problem.
    Don't know why MPCHC doesn't :S

EDIT: This is how MPC 6.4.9.1 is configured:

In external filters there is only AC3Filter enabled.

  9. What version of MPCHC are you using? Have you tried another build?

sorry it wasn't hdv, but .mp4 created from hdv. using svn1549. it opens the .mp4 file and says it's playing but the timeline marker doesn't move. also shows (playing dxva) at the bottom. just a black screen.

  12. Try disabling the h.264/AVC DXVA decoder. Or try switching output devices.
