Rip the dvd to your computer

    Use IFOEdit to edit VIDEO_TS.IFO

there is a option in IFOEdit to set the DVD Region Free

    hope this helps

You have to either change the firmware in your DVD drive so it is region free, or you have to rip the DVDs and make a copy that is region free.

    Or use
dvd43, free but may not work on all systems
anydvd, the best but not free then.

( I guess you just want to play them on your computer...and not a standalone dvd player)

Or install the free VLC media player on your PC. It ignores region codes on DVD. No ripping or other software will be required. It will simply play your DVD.

Thank you for the replies. I always use VLC but it won't start the dvds. I just cut change the current region with DVD Genie and play them with WMP. now I want to watch them on my DVD Player. my dvd player is not Region Free. and I know there is no code to make it Region Free. any easy-simple way to break the region and convert these dvds to DVD5 to play them on DVD Player ?

    Thanks

    Yes.

    1) Rip with free DVDFab HD Decrypter.
    2) Shrink to DVD-5 size with free DVD Shrink.
    3) Burn with free ImgBurn.

No cost to you for any of those.

However Region 2 covers Japan (NTSC) and the UK (PAL). If your player cannot play both formats you may still find it refuses to play the discs after removing the region code simply because it cannot play the format of the discs. In that case you are in for a lot of work, and should possibly consider getting a better DVD player if you are going to import discs.
