    I did a search of the Guides and Forums for conversion of DVDs on a Mac, and most are old or the links no longer work. So let me ask for suggestions again;

    1. What is the best tool to convert a VIDEO_TS (DVD) file to a Mac playable on the AppleTV (black, latest generation) AND a Mac. This includes the 5.1 audio stream, and has the ability to keep the aspect ratio and frame size the same. (Handbrake settings all crop the picture).

    2. Implicit in this is what would Mac users recommend as the best tool for conversion (most tools easily rip the DVD, but the conversion is the tricky part).

    Thanks for any input.

  2. I'm pretty sure you can tell handbrake not to crop and encode anamorphic

    Handbrake's pre-sets are a good starting point and should provide a good file with proper proportions and no cropping. Do the files you have converted play exactly the same on both your Mac -and- the tv?
