How can we capture the audio of a cassete tape?

You can ran a cable from the headphones to your Aux in on your Sound Card. You can get the cable that fits from any local store that has recording equipment. Here's a link to what I have used in the Past. Then use any Audio Editor to record what is on the cassette. You might need to tweak the sound levels on the cassette output.

Yes, just feed the audio from your player to your sound card input or video card audio in port (if you have one) and use any audio recorder/capture program.
I use winadr because it can go right to mp3 instead of wav but it's not free. I'm sure many free ones must be available. The window recorder I believe will only get one minute of audio before it cuts out. Haven't used it in a long time so this may have changed.
I use this same method to transfer my old 33 1/3 lp's a few at a time. Those require a bit more work to get rid of hiss and pops on some older records but the results are pretty good.
