  1. Hello, first of all I would like to apologize if something wont make sense to you or you find some mistakes in my English...its not my native language.

So, to my problem: I am making videos for youtube (lets plays, gameplays) so I record a lot. I recorded in .avi so files I got were huge (40 min = 109 gb). So I decided to try x264 codec. It was awesome...good quality and small files. Then I tried to render it (the file that I recorded with x264 codec) in Sony Vegas Pro 10. First +- 50 sec looks great, but after 50s it goes all wrong. Its hard to describe so here are some pictures:

How it should look (original and first 50 sec of rendered file): http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/689/originalhv.jpg/

And this is how it looks like after 50s: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/833/afterrender.jpg/

Basically it looks like Sony Vegas cant load frames quickly enough so the images get all squarly (I dont even know if that word exists).

I dont know very much about video making, basically I learn what I actually need, so dont be mean to me, if I made some totally basic mistake.

looks more like the original capture might be bad. can you play those files without any problems? use mediainfo on the original - set it into text mode and copy/paste the results here.

but also you'd get better results using the avi files and editing/rendering them in vegas. x264 is a final output format not a good editing one.

  3. Original capture is good, when I open it in Kmplayer it looks great and it has no problems. I want to use x264 because of size of files...when I record multiplayer gameplay (which I will cut then) files can be 1 hour long and when they are in .avi they would be really huge (150gb).

Here is mediainfo of the original:

1 - Try MIRILLIS ACTION instead DXTORY.
2 - Using DXTORY, select UT VIDEO codec in max compression.
3 - Use LAV decoder to X264 files.
4 - Change AVi to MP4 , for better compatibility in Vegas.
