It's boiled down to this...
The Btwincap driver and one of these compatible cards......
** ATI TV-wonder
** Leadtek Winfast 2000 xp deluxe
** Pinnacle PCTV studio pro
There all on Ebay right now but alas....which is the smartest buy?
THANKS for helping me make the right choice.

jmr2004,
Q: What do you mean right choice?
A: Well I read all of these posts before asking and the myriad of info I run into slams me into a wall of confusuion. You see, I'm a perfectionist and I want to get it right.
Q: Confused?....give me an example.
A: Well, for every determination you make, it seems there is another debatable nuance that pops up.....ie....now my attention has turned to the BT878 cards and the wincap driver....yet when I try to trace down the right card to buy, I see posts like "get a card with audio in as opposed to using the sound card"...."I get shit captures"......"my 878 card won't work under XP"
Q: So you must think there is a "perfect" card for your needs.
A: Yes.
Q: And they are?
A: Capturing VHS video under XP with quality as good or better than the original.
Using one of the "many" listed cards shown to be compatible with the btwincap drivers.
Doing it with the least amount of hassle.
