Sony BluRay players can't be hacked. End of story. There are less than a handful of BluRay players NONE OF WHICH ARE SOLD IN NORTH AMERICA that by entering a code, one can make them region free for DVD play only. Sony makes none of them. And there is the Oppo and Momitsu players that can become region free for DVD and BluRay play thanks to either hardware work done by the seller after the manufacturer shipped the player (Momitsu) or you can replace the firmware yourself to support that (Oppo). No manufacturer ships a BluRay player from the factory that is region free for anything. It's amazing to me that maybe 3 or 4 BluRay players sold in other regions can become region free for just DVD playback given how hostile Hollywood is to that and how the BluRay licensing agreement forbids the manufacture of even region free DVD capability in a BluRay player (that's why someone other than the manufacturer has to do something to the Momitsu and Oppo players).
