Can someone tell me how I can double the speed of a video
Not worried if the sound comes out like a chipmunk

I'm not sure what to search for on Google

    Thanks

i looked up virtualdubmod - i can use this to double frame rate
    thats great
except - i want both audio and video to be doubled all in one go
i don't want to do any extra work!
i'm sure there must be a tool out there

importantly: i need to edit and make the videos play at double speed
a player that does double speed is no good
i want to play videos back on my android

+ i've googles again, but can't find anything that helps

    thanks

Anyone? I'm still stuck on this one.

The other very very very very important thing is that the video conversion into double speed MUST be done in batch!
At any time, I will be doing 20 5 minute videos at a time

    Thanks

I don't think you will find anything simple that does video and audio speed up and also batch support.

The old windows movie maker had a speed up, double filter. But it can't do any batch.

There are two ways to double video speed.

    1. Toss every other frame (as can be done in avisynth). The result can look choppy.
    2. Interpolate new frames (as done in editors like Vegas)

Double speed audio needs to be pitch converted or the voice goes Mickey Mouse. This can be done in Audacity or Vegas.

You haven't told us if the source video is interlace or progressive.

    guys, thanks for the replies
i'll tell you exactly what i want: i'm downloading tutorial videos from youtube (things to do with web and mobile app programming)
i'm am 'jack of all trades' - so i don't need to go through full lessons and will pick something up if said and shown quickly

    possibilities:

    1. avisynth sounds great to be honest - tossing every other frame is ok - since all i'm looking at is a recorded screencast - so for this case it won't be choppy at all (i assume)

    2. i just had a brain wave: get all videos and put into one. then use one of the video editors to double the speed
then create one very large video file - and split into chunks
splitting into chunks - is there an open source program that will do this for me?
    thanks!

double speed audio - not a problem (unless it starts getting on my nerves!) - but the audacity things sounds good
can u tell me what setting i should look for in regards this?
