As a Video Clip Collector, and always looking for something new on internet,
I have came across following wonderful and very illustrative guide for AVIDemux.
I would also like to share same with all of you folks.
link : http://www.ahashare.com/torrents-details.php?id=74788
The Guide is in detail - a step-by-step, very easy to follow, and
it includes sample video(s) to make your own clip(s).
Finally, many thanks to the uploader.

Initially I was tempted to modify the contents and upload here.
Later I decided to just post a link.
updates from comments:
DIRECT DOWNLOAD LINK:

It does work.
You just need to select, copy all the text and paste on the address bar. If you just click the first part of the link it won't direct you to the right place, cause the spaces on the file name are not recognized and you just click on it. -
but you'll need an mediafire account to save the 63mb (?) file...otherwise, just the page's URL is saved
-
No way.
I don't have an account and I downloaded it.
Don't try to use a download manager. -
i hv downloaded successfully by above link too!
alternatively one may try any of following links"

AVIDemux Rocks! -
I like what I've seen of AVIDemux so far, but when it comes to clip extraction, DVD SHRINK still excels at this, and it is hard to imagine how anything else could be easier.
Open the DVD or VIDEO_TS folder (if already ripped) -->
ReAuthor Mode -->
Set the Start and End markers [ ] -- conveniently time-based.
And that's about it.
There probably are some DVDs Shrink can't open, but I've extracted a great many clips directly from un-ripped titles, without the protections interfering at all. The failure rate has been negligible.
One thing I haven't done -- because I mostly deal with material in DVD format -- is try to extract clips from single, downloaded video files. If I should have occasion to do that, perhaps AVIDemux will be a major discovery. When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form. -
@ Seeker47
DVDShrink, definitely, i wud consider as best VOB extractor or Chapter Grabber tool, which in turn gives you 100% quality in uncompressed mode.
But editing features are limited as if one wants just the middle part of particular segment. Or joi two different parts.
further more documentation is lmited, which makes bit difficult for a newbies. -
I have tried AVIDemux with different video format flv, mp4, wmv, mpg, mkv ...most of the time AVIDemux is able to import video and generate the index for further editing successfully.
It is always better to open a video file of any format directly in AVIDemux, if AVIDemux fails to open it, it is better to convert it to AVI format by maintaining same Video + Audio bit rates. -
