You need to give a little more information.

Do you want to add titles/credits ?
Do you want to edit the footage at all ?
Do you want to manipulate the audio at all ?

If the answer is (and will always be) no to these questions, then buy a DVD Recorder and perhaps a Timebase Corrector (if you are really serious) and be done with it. Have a read of the first 4 posts in this forum https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=43 as well.

If the answer is yes to any of those questions then Capture and Conversion forums here are a good play to start. However if you really want good answers, you need to ask specific questions, not vague like this one.

If all you want is simple conversion, buy a Pioneer or JVC DVD recorder. Both have excellent quality at the higher settings.

If you're thinking about one of those combo units, they aren't regarded highly. First, there are compromises in quality and features (compared to seperate units). Second, if there is a technical problem with the unit, you'll have to send the whole thing to the shop.

As suggested, you might want to consider a Time Base Corrector for better video stability. You'll have to have seperate units to connect a TBC.

If you want custom menus on your DVDs, you can copy your home made DVDs to your computer hard drive, then re-author them. You can even do some simple editing.

    Good Luck!
