Can someone suggest likely reasons why the DVD-RW discs I've been making recently are taking over a minute to get recognised by my DVD player please? When I load commercial ones, and those I made myself with DVD-RW some months ago, the player used to bring up the main menu in a few seconds after the tray closed.
Also, even when it does start (after over a minute), the DVD starts playing immediately, without going to the menu.
This has happened with authoring/burning by at least two different methods. The latest is with TDA.

There are many variables...most of which you will never find a clear answer on. Why does my player like +RW discs....but not +RW discs that have been bitset to ROM?
In your case it just may be a simple media issue...it doesn't like that brand maybe.
